3/1/2024 0 Comments Indigo hotel savannah gaI kindly informed her that this wasn’t the case and that I had in fact selected a Queen bed. Once arriving for check-in at 4pm we were told by the staff member checking us in that we had selected a standard room but didn’t make a selection between a double bed, Queen bed or King Bed. We booked the hotel room the day before on and I selected a standard room with a Queen Bed. This weekend me and my girlfriend decided to take a short trip to Savannah for Memorial Day weekend. We may have missed the chance to wow you, but I hope that you’d let us set things straight and give you an effortlessly authentic stay next time that you’re in the area. Please trust that your remarks will keep on inspiring us to fix our areas for improvement and continue to strive for the best outcomes. I went ahead and relayed your feedback to our housekeeping and front desk teams. We sent a communication about these modifications via our Travel Advisory. You can ensure that these updates are temporary and that we’re hoping that everything will be back to normal soon. These changes are in line with the rules set by the local law and health authorities to help flatten the curve. Please understand that many IHG properties are operating with a limited workforce, amenities, and services. ![]() I’m also sorry to hear that our hotel’s upkeep and staff service. I’m concerned that you weren’t satisfied with the room and parking fees. Lasting and superb impressions are what we want our guests to have, and I’m afraid that you see us on a different note. Hello dclmom34! Thank you for your stay and for sharing your honest thoughts about us. Don’t waste your time staying here, go somewhere else, but ask the questions of how limited their services are. We loved the location, it allowed us to explore the historic district on foot, but that was it. And they could have lowered their price due to limited services. ![]() We didn’t have high expectations because of the virus, but open communication about everything would have gone a long way. I wish that we had been told or at least given a letter explaining everything, it would have been better rather than letting us figure it out on our own. There were also signs laying around explaining the housekeeping situation. We knew that we had made the right decision to leave. As we checked out, we discovered that the hotel garage had been closed down. At that point, we decided to end our stay the next morning. Despite all of this, she did her best to help us with what little that she had. People we taking their trash from their rooms and putting it in the hallway cans, which were not being emptied. The lobby was a mess and trash was overflowing at the entrances and in the hallways. She didn’t have access to a closet to get any supplies and they didn’t have enough of those because someone hadn’t ordered them. She then began to tell us that there were only 4 people working and they were overwhelmed. My husband went down to the front desk to find another frustrated desk clerk who told us that there was no housekeeping available and she only had a couple of clean towels, no toiletries, toilet paper or coffee. The real problems started the next day when we wanted to get fresh towels and empty our trash can. Our room was fine, although a little compact. We ended up parking down the street at a city garage for a much more reasonable rate. We asked why it wasn’t $28 per day and the clerk dismissed us. The webpage promised $35 parking with valet and in and out privileges. We didn’t expect valet because of the virus, but were a little upset that if we parked in the garage it would be $28 every time we entered the garage. Our room was ready, but we were a little put off by the sign on the front desk saying that there was no valet parking as stated on the webpage and parking in the garage would be $28. We never got a call or text, but went back at 4. She said give us your number and we will let you know when to come back. The lady at the front desk was very short and said that they didn’t have anything open and it would be 4:00 or later. We got there at 2:30, thinking that we may be able to check in a few minutes earlier than the posted 3:00 check in. ![]() We didn’t expect everything to be perfect with the virus going on, but had we known of the issues that this hotel had going on, we would have stayed somewhere else.
